My apartment at the Patterson Court complex on the Disney College Program. I also learned a few fun facts while in Orientation.

Expedition Everest is a Hidden Mickey. If you few it from Google Earth, it's plain as day. In my opinion, it is the worlds largest hidden Mickey (they say the whole Hollywood Studios park is a hidden Mickey, but It's a real stretch. The addition of Rockin' Roller coaster threw it off, among other things).

Rafiki's Planet Watch as a mural with the most hidden Mickey's in one place - 45.

The big mountain at Expedition Everest actually isn't Everest. It's called Forbidden Mountain. Either the Imagineers (or, it could be the way the villagers viewed it, but I think its the builders) kind of screwed it up. The story is that Everest is so high up that the wind blows all the snow off its peak, which is why the smaller mountain, Everest, has no snow on its peak.

You can fit all of Disneyland, California Adventure, and its parking lot inside the AK parking lot. And still park 500 cars.

All of the Magic Kingdom can fit in the AK.

AK is obviously the biggest park.

The park did not originally open with Dinoland or Asia.

The highway number in Dinoland is Rt. 498. The date 4/98 is the month & year AK opened. The day it opened, April 22, is Earth day.

In the first few months after it opened, the Yeti in Expedition would move, and swing his claws down at guests. It, along with the weight of it's hydraulics, was so heavy that it broke his "hips". Imagineers were worried, if he kept moving, he would eventually rip right out of the wall and land on the track. He was then limited to just scrunching his claw at passing trains. He soon began losing screws in his claw. He is know limited to standing with a strobe light in front of him.

  • Where did you work?

  • I love how you filmed when Leon wasn't home. Foreshadowing? I believe so!
