DDT saved at least 80,000,000 lives. I'm an agronomist and I live in Brazil. Rachel Carson was an eugenist. Ecology is just a another name for eugenics.

Rachel Carson set out to save the world from pesticide pollution. She was the first to put the idea of environmental awareness out there and I commend her for that. Her efforts helped the world and even though they brought about the death of thousands of people, I think everyone makes mistakes and she was trying to save the world. Not hurt it.

Rachel Carson is a liar and a mass murderer. The EPA's Ruckelhaus overturned a decision by his own administrative law judge who ruled that DDT was safe and effective to use. He did not disclose the fact that he was a member of an environmental group, a conflict of interest. Millions have died from malaria who shouldn't have! The greens are misanthropes. Climate change is natural, there is no need for rationing (sustainability) and people are more important than animals, period!

Carson was truly a visionary and was a very influential person of her time and the most in the classification of Environmentalism (even cited as an inspiration to Al Gore although I STRONGLY dislike him). She used the information she had at the moment and wrote a book that could have prevented a disaster. She spotted the very important problem of miscellaneous spraying and cites the "carefree liberty" of how we used it as the problem. it was, but it stopped all spraying in the US which is bad.
