Orphaned at age 5, WWII veteran, went on to play first chair trumpet at BYU. This is a remarkable story from Jack's military experience.

  • @Toiletcorpse please... justin beiber - 700mil +

  • trumped*

  • Back there, they played the drumped during war, to get their minds off the stress they've been put into - today, they listen to heavy-metal while driving a tank and shooting people, just for entertainment. Where are we going to...

  • @Abbe235 If you think that this is the first war that filled soldiers heads with propaganda then you obviously haven't graduated middle school yet. Soldiers were taught to exterminate the entire race of the enemy during WWI. Today's propaganda is the best its ever been. We aren't told that the enemy is a scourge upon this earth and needs to be wiped out entirely. The strongest argument you have is that religion would prevent soldiers from shaking hands.

  • Anyone seen Joyeux Noel? Touching movie, definitely shows the power of music during war

  • @jopezu Todays soldiers have their heads filled with probaganda such as: ''You are fighting for every american's freedom'' and ''if we don't fight, the terrorist wins''. and such. So I don't think that the american sniper's heart would melt when he hears some foreign music and vice versa. We are now better at killing people and making propaganda than ever before. Therefore I doubt that the same thing could happen in todays warfare.

  • @Abbe235 because the nature of man has changed so much, hasn't it? we don't get tired, lonely and scared anymore. we're all killing machines now. in the face of death, our pysches don't crumble and seek only the comfort and faces of what and who we know, correct? the only person that would make a comment such as yours is somebody whose only experienced war via 'call of duty'.

  • That's a real hero. Only that kind of people are able to end a war made by idiots on both sides. War is a dirty busyness made to destroy honest people - there is no liberation war, no sacred war and no glory in war - every war is hell. Peace and love and happiness are our rights and obligations for this world. ps. thx for the upload

  • I heard Jack Tueller's story for the first time today on CBC radio. I simply fell apart. What an incredible man! What an incredible human being! Wished I could just hug him.

  • Jacks heart is like a garden. Growing compassion in face of fear or resentment, his choice was love. My heart goes out to u Jack, i want to plant the seeds of compassion just like u !
