@sfcsinc I'm glad that finally someone understands conservation sometimes one animal must die in order to benefit many more. Conservation is about the bigger picture. Hunting isn't great but its a reality that we have to live with otherwise animals such as the Sable or Black Wildebeest would be extinct.

@Kakorat009 TB means Tuberculosis. Lions are picking it up from the animals they eat. Which pick it up from shared water holes with domestic cattle. So ironically and (not having a dig at farmers but) inadvertently they are killing more lions than hunters.
-
@weavetree22 Um, what does "TB" stand for.
-
@Kakorat009 Lions are more under threat due to TB than they are of being killed by humans. See if the hunter didn't want to hunt the animal then landowners would change their land from natural vegetation into farmland. Landowners are money orientated so if they get more money from hunting they will have game farms rather than fields of cash crops. Also you have to bear in mind that the lions also have to be in game farms with prey and so other animals benefit because of the death of one lion.

@weavetree22 Because of hunters, lion will go extinct!!

"Anti hunters" that eat meat are not hypocrites! why kill what your not gonna eat?! killing a burglar or in self defense is one thing but killing something for sport?? as much as i love the adrenaline of shooting a target that's alive, I shouldn't have the right to kill an animal for sport. that's why they have launching disks at the shooting range, and paintball ranges.
The SAVE Valley Conservancy,SVC, is the largest privately owned reserve n Africa. Lion were reintroduced n 95. Today populations may soon reach capacity. It is an important example of what hunting forces can do. The average growth rate of lion in SVC since 1996 has been an “exponential population increase…of 35% per year…and may yet double….” (Paul Funston).
