Im Quitting smoking Right now! Been smoking 2 packs a day for about 2 years!!! I Recently relapsed after being nicotine free for about 3 months :( I Have decided to do it cold turkey and without the assistance of any medications. Im on week 1 And i feel much healthier. :) I was considering trying chantix but the side effects seem kinda crazy! So iv decided to just do it cold turkey without any drugs! Wish me a happy nicotine free life xD

thanks for responding & great to hear you have been smoke free for 2 yrs now! im at my wits end and have tried everything, in the end i think it comes down to not choosing to smoke! i understand it blocks the receptors but it doesnt change your thoughts! its why im hesitant, plus i can get into little depressions sometimes (im a capricorn :)) and this makes me hesitant. dr's have no prob prescribing this regardless of the news out there about it. going to see what my acupuncturist says.

@HPGolfer101 Is cerebral palsy why you sound so retarded?
Or are you just, you know... Retarded in the face?

@MoKaLu Any choice that leads to a year without a cig is a great choice. Congrats, bet your lungs are happy.
-
@BackStageCowboy yep, you're right. Nearly a year without a cig. I chose the ecig, that's my choice.
-
@MoKaLu but you didn't quit anything. You are still addicted to nicotine and still buying things with nicotine in them. That doesn't solve anything as soon as you don't have that e cig you are right back to being a smoker. This drug leaves you dependent on NOTHING.

I'm on my 10th day, still smoking, although not as much, they taste yuck and I am getting minor headaches, not enjoying smoking at all. I am hoping to finally end over next day or two at the latest, the cravings to smoke are already definately reduced, just have to focus on the habit.. that should be easier.. I must admit I have been a bit snappy at times, but when compared to cold turkey, I am so much happier overall. Still early days for me
im thinking of trying this and your video has been very educational. i got the craving of wanting to fill my lungs with smoke when i was off them ayear ago while on nicorette. im still not sure if i want to try this stuff, but if i do, im going to do the lower dose as you say and see what happens, but the idea of depression and suicidal thoughts after coming off is very disconcerting.. the whyquit.com site says to NOT use this or any drug and that educational cold turkey is best in the long run

@nycsparow glad it helped. i took a reduced dose for only 3 weeks and have been smoke free for over 2 years now and i'm no more crazy than i used to be! ;)

thanks for the review. i just started chantix, on day 4. Sounds like you got really lucky. I hope you are still smoke free. I used the patches and quit for almost a year, then started back up again. hoping that chantix will work for me. Take care

@childre24 hope its going well! and i am still quit, and i honestly can not ever see myself smoking again. if it helps, at this point i simply consider myself to be a non-smoker. plain as if i never was once one.
