Inception Effects Video

If you haven't seen Inception, you might not understand the concept of the video, but this is my attempt at the city bending effect featured in the movie. I know it could have been better, but the clip of the city itself took over 55 hours to render ... so I wasn't about to try again.

How did u make the glass gravity thing? Is that also in after effects or cinema 4D?

@the5ilverb0y That was done by duct taping the camera and everything else to the table, tilting the table so only the water would tilt, and then replacing the background with a still image of the wall.

PS: i hate it when people watch videos like these, mostly done by students, and expect hollywood quality. Fuck them. Great job!

Anyone who disliked this clearly didn't realise how much work went into making it happen in inception: they lidar scanned about four blocks of paris and created custom software for this effect alone. and this guy just did it himself somehow, more or less. Kudos, magician... Anyone interested could check out the essay 'in your dreams' by barbara roberts
