I am wondering about using rope lights myself in my set up.
-
Very nice setup.

Oops. Seems like a waste not to. You understand ? Cheers

Fair point pal, but it's a great set up and not having the 1080p
-
rainbow effect? no 1080p? hmmmmmmmm.
-
You should get a blu ray player, Avatar in Blu is far superior than on DVD. Does you projector do 1080p?

Dude, saw the other 1st video, and I'm VERY IMPRESSED with the finished product! You rock man!

@martinstartin1 the rainbow effect is only said to affect a small percentage of the human population. luckily i am not one of those people, however if you are, i would suggest an lcd projector. they do not create a rainbow effect. and i dont have 1080p because it was more expensive and i wasnt going to pay more money for a resolution i dont have coming in as native anyway.

How did you get the lights to turn on when you paused the movie? and to turn off when you played the movie?

@trevino36spurs I have the Logitech Harmony 650 universal remote control that uses software to create macros that allow multiple components to perform actions upon pushing the same button

Yep. Avatar is pretty much the default movie to play when doing a picture demonstration.
I've got this projector and have made a ton of videos about it. Easily the best purchase i've ever made. Kicks my old 42inch plasma in the nuts. it's funny. Even when seeing 65inch tvs at best buy the other day, everything seemed small. After having a projector, there's no going back

@soulweaponry yeah i know what you mean man, its so awesome and big that anything slightly smaller is all of the sudden too small! haha and i saw the video you have of how to make your screen! thats a nice simple way! good job! i was gonna do it that way but ended up splurging for the black border. great job picking a good projector though! its so nice!
