Bobby! First saw this cat with Blakey c. 1979 at Washington University in St. Louis. I was a sophomore. Got ticets to Edison Theatre and there I became a believer. Fabulous, top of the food chain stuff. UNTIL...he and Victor Lewis locked up with Horizon. THOSE were the years. In Case You Missed It (Fuller Love)...my all time fav, but soooo many others. Bobby Watson scales like no other IMHO, but so lyrical and hip with it. No gimmicks, just....Bobby!
