This video is about one of my favorite streamlined steam locomotives, number 3460. It was the only streamlined locomotive owned by the Santa Fe. The Blue Bird is also known as the Blue Goose and it is a J3a Hudson Streamlined.
The other two locomotives are Santa Fe EMD F2s. The train that these three locos are pulling is a Santa Fe and slight Amtrak combination..
In the beggining of this video is my black domestic shorhair tabbey cat, Michael. If you're wondering, he is eight years old and is a rather large cat. Ever since I got the trains out again, he got use to them pretty quickly; he even watches them sometimes.

Music: Streamliner (by James Coffey) I figured that it matched this video pretty well.

  • whats the name of the song u used and where can i find it

  • @trackspike64 check the description and I got it off of youtube.

  • Yep that's the blue goose, NWSL makes repower and regearing kits for the loco, but there was one solution I did a while back, I took a newer NYC hudson by rivarossi that had the outside damaged thanks to an amatuer paint job, I switched the guts, and now it works great, repowing isn't hard, my complaint is the wheel flanges, the older rivarossi stuff has the deep flanges and if you run it on code 83 tracks, it's ablast watching them hit the frogs on the switches.

  • @rallygsc cool, I'll have to consider that, it's just right now I'm not with my trains and won't be for a while, but when I see them again I'll have to consider it because my Blue Goose at the moment can only pull six cars by itself. On this train it was mainly the F2s doing the job and the Goose was there for show.

  • that engine is actually called the blue goose

  • True in a sense, but that was actually a name given to it by rail fans; it was not its original name.

  • Nice train and song.

  • nice train

  • Hey, great loco, but get those Amtrak coaches outa there!

  • I do believe that this is a original Riverosi, but this one does run rough and noisy. It needs new rubber on the wheels, otherwise it won't pull a train over four cars. That's why I have the F units on the train, the Blue Bird is more decoration than anything because it is not nearly as fast as my F2s.
