The most beautiful rendition of Ave Maria I've ever heard

OK 1st This is NOT Maria Callas!! OK ITS NOT!

Please forgive the rather poor editing. I threw the clip together as best as I could however, my patience with this kind of thing is limited (I wasn't particularly happy with all of it) but no matter it's the song that counts and that's why I had to upload it. Please give me some comments if you like the song.

Pps If you're wondering why the crazy pics well, I had nothing else to put with the track and its kinda hard to know what to use when you're dealing with a prayer.

This is the German (Schubert) version which isn't the same as the Hail Mary (Ave Maria) in Latin, such as Bach-Gounod. This is also known as The Lady of the Lake.

it truly is the most beautiful version, this was the song my father downloaded for her mother who just passed away, and was played on during the last mass before the interment. it was very beautiful and very solemn.

reminds me of wwii; the nurses, from many different countries who helped both sides with unconditional love and compassion, whose only hope was for the killing to end. Religion aside, even atheists like myself, think that is the kind of love that binds us all together. Mercy, Empathy, what Maria/Mary stands for.

i love this song because not only is it beautiful it also has a lot of emotion behind it and even though if you dont know what she is saying in the song you can hear it in her voice because of the way she sings...i think this song is way better than all of the pop songs today that have no real meaning behind.. i mean dont get me wrong so pop songs have meaning but they are defintly not as beautiful as this song.

It's funny how our taste in music can change with age! I am a baby boomer who never liked classical music or even my parents' music of the 30s and 40s. I now love classical music and music from my parents' era. My son, who is only 28, likes alternative music, 60s music and classical music. When he reads he listens to classical music. It's all beautiful.
