i can only really think of 6 fighters to put in a top 10 for this decade. i mean no doubt that jones jr, lennox, oscar, morales, tzsyu are great but some got beat bad in the second half of the decade and others didnt even fight in it like lewis.
in no order
barrera
mayweather
hopkins
marquez
calzaghe
pacquiao

@cupocity303 I agree de la hoya was definatley a 90's fighter, over the hill at 2005. but you dont have calzaghe on there is a littel suspicious. but have pacquaio as number one when floyd mateather fought all prime and undefeated fight is CRAZY. seeing as though pacman didnt famous until after he beat erik morales and he also had horrible fight with marquez. shame on you.
My only 2 problems with the list is #1 obviously, Floyd should be the fighter of the decade. Manny hasa loss and a draw. and #2 Im no fan of Cotto but for a signigicant portion of time,he was considered THE best welterweight.Other than that, your list is cool with me.

@NextWorldApparel The reason Floyd isn't number one is because of his inactivity. While he was taking breaks, Manny was fighting and winning. He took two years off after the Hatton win, and Manny kept going. Manny turned pro a year earlier than Floyd, yet never took the kind of breaks Floyd did. He also has more wins than Floyd, despite the losses.

@cupocity303 I get what your saying, but ALOT of Manny's fights were handpicked by Arum AND former victims of Floyd. Not trying to hate on Manny. He's clearly top 2 or 3 BUT ppl claim Floyd cherry picks, yet Floyd fought big name guys in or close to their prime. The only recent guy Manny fought coming off a quality win is Marquez (if you call Katsidis quality). Not to mention, in the last 5 or so years, all but 2 fighter he faced was with Top Rank. And he's rumored to fight Marquez or Bradley next

@NextWorldApparel That's all Boxing Forum jargon I'm not gonna get into. I picked Pacquiao based on stats. He has had more amount of wins during that decade, and the quality of opponents on paper were just as strong as Floyd's. The guys people claim he beat who were past their best (Cotto, Margarito) are all guys that Floyd wasn't willing to face when they were at their best. It just so happens that Pacquiao entered the 147 division when these guys were beaten, coming off losses.

@cupocity303 Those are Top Rank guys. Bob Arum doesnt want Floyd making any money, especially not beating one of his guys. Even Alex Ariza is saying it now. He said Floyd wants the Manny fight and Bob won't do it. I can send you the interview if you'd like

@NextWorldApparel Again, that's just more irrelevant Boxing Forum jargon. When you make a list of Top 10 fighters. You don't take into account who is scared of whom, or which promoter is doing what. Floyd for whatever reason did fight Margarito or Cotto. You can say Top Rank kept him from it, but there is plenty of evidence from Floyd's own mouth saying that he didn't want to fight them (I.E. Margarito is not a PPV draw, Cotto needs to leave Top Rank). That's all irrelevant, that stats matter.
