  • Lydian, not my thing appearantly. I prefer the regular minor with the arabian minor and just raping all kinds of minor and some major. But the lydian scale is not really for me.

  • @LeapingDodo Minor scales are cool but it's nice to experiment :) My mission is to find a way to make Lydian sound evil...

  • do you want a kiss?

  • @JasonWB007 hehe i was looking for a vid on your channel "Has liked wave of babies" :D

  • @LeapingDodo Well... you haven't heard ME try to play it. That's just wrong :):):) Seriously, though, I'll look into the Tosin Abasi. I've never heard of him/her.

  • @JasonWB007 Satriani is not my thing, i prefer things like tosin abasi more. it's just not my thing. Just doesn't sound wrong enough :P

  • @jelenakiric try Lydian flat 7 scale it will sound strange and if u want to make pure Lydian evil then try to skip notes and play in wide intervals like root and 6th root and fifth or u can make any scale evil if u try some chromatic notes with in the scale.

  • @LeapingDodo I'd agree, mainly because it seems to me to be one of the harder modes to get the hang of. I mean, what does it have, a #4? That's not what most people are used to hearing. The minor 3rd and 7th, for the Dorian seem more "normal". That being said, Satriani and others make this mode sound really cool. Check out "Flying in a Blue Dream". I'm thinking it might be worth the effort to learn how to work with this mode. Especially since I'm working into Melodic Minor modes.

  • @jelenakiric Easy way to make Lydian evil is to create some sort of harmonic variation on the melody and chords with the #5 (b5), If you look at E lydian then E whole tone, there's only 2 notes different, switching between them both opens up some new altered harmony and distinctive sounds which is worh experimenting with, You can sure make it sound evil with whole tone and lydian :P all the best, nice to see some girls playing aswell :D

  • @Jelenakiric there is a way to make Lydian sound evil, but of course that means there's some insane alterations of typical "Lydianess" of the mode. I rarely get to practice guitar though I played the variation called "Lydian Diminished" where you throw in a b3 to add a darker tone before making it all dreamy. Oh btw, there are over 20 kinds of Lydian modes....

  • You look like Jessica Fox from Hollyoaks!:')

    Awesome playing anyways:)

  • haha, a girl plays guitar very well and there are just ~8200 views? maybe one of the first signs of the worlds end in 2012...
