http://a20q.info/zBE8xO - Making drop shadows on text and bitmap objects.
Over at the Mac 20 Questions website there is a full article about using Pixelmator to create drop shadows. I also have links on there to get the Quartz composer plug-in's so that you can have the Pixelmator drop shadow effect. Pixelmator is a pretty good application for all sorts of graphic work even though it doesn't do cmyk. If you are a graphic designer doing stuff for online then not having the cmyk doesn't really matter.
You don't mean the Pixelmator drop shadow plug-in for text or the Quartz composer plug-in because it is built into the application. If you want to do a Pixelmator drop shadow on a bitmap object then you will need to be using a Pixelmator drop shadow filter. It is one of the excellent Pixelmator text effects that you can have using filters. This video shows Pixelmator text tutorials. I had to get the Quartz composer drop shadow filter from a separate website and copy into the correct folder on my Mac. It wasn't difficult to do this but I do prefer it when the application has is already built-in.
In the next Mac 20 Q video I look at how easy it is to do drop shadowed text effects using another application called ArtText 2. Creating a drop shadow in this other application is much easier than doing a Pixelmator drop shadow with or without the Pixelmator drop shadow plug in.
I would suggest that because of the cheaper price to buy either of those applications that it is a good idea to have both graphics applications in your creative tool box on your Mac. Pixelmator 2 drop shadow text effects are a little easier than creating drop shadows in the previous version of Pixelmator.
@hybridevoluti0n I use ScreenFlow - there are some videos in this channel showing how to use it too. Brilliant app - Love it to bits....
