Like a friend of mine used to say " that was just like warm treacle running down your back".......

HERMOSOOOOOOOOOOOO

Is that the Subcontra in B-flat? Such a beautiful sound!
-
Incredible --SO difficult to play on these huge, deep instruments with their great demand for air.
-
Thanks, Maria for the correction! I should have remembered that they had the third one since I have seen it in several of their youtube videos.

@AccessGuy11 Dear all,
A small correction: the third sub-contrabass recorder is not owned by the Flanders Recorder Quartet, but by Amsterdam-based recorder consort The Royal Wind Music, founded and directed by Paul Leenhouts (who, together with Winfried Hackl, cooperated with Adriana Breukink to design and build the sub-contrabass recorder).

Sounds wonderful!

Actually, I believe Adri is playing one of three such instruments she made. The other two are owned by the Loeki Stardust Quartet and the Flanders Recorder Quartet. It takes an amazing amount of breath to play and, of course, adds a degree of profundity to recorder consort music that is really amazing. In terms of organ stops, you could say that this piece is being played on a 12' stop!
It is!
