Jarrod Uthoff is a different kind of kid. He's not different in the way he acts, when you spend time with him it feels natural- his personality and demeanor are that of your regular midwestern kid, and that is precisely what makes him so different. See, even though he acts the part of a regular Iowan teen- and I genuinely believe he's convinced that that's just what he is, his reality is a lot of things and normal isn't one of them. Over the course of the past 3 months this six foot eight soon-to-be senior has shot, passed, and dribbled his way into a pretty desirable position- it's safe to say that there are a lot of kids out there who wouldn't mind being in his shoes. It's been pretty clear for awhile now that Jerrod was going to be a division 1 basketball player, but it wasn't until recently that he realized his true potential. A few months ago word got out that there was a kid in Cedar Rapids who played like Gordon Hayward, and once word got out- it spread like wildfire. This unassuming midwestern kid is now one of the most sought after recruits in America- his combination of skills, size, and basketball IQ so unique that a quite impressive list of schools are putting on the full court press to try and get him to sign his name on that LOI- a list that includes Indiana, Illinois, Notre Dame, Butler, Arizona State, Wisconsin, Creighton, Iowa State, Iowa, and many more. So is he high on himself? A bit cocky at his newfound fame and success? You could spend a whole day with the kid and he probably wouldn't even mention any of that stuff- as a matter of fact, there's a good chance that if you brought it up he'd be quicker to change the subject than to gloat- and he might also forget to let you know that he's a 4.0 student and the president of his junior class. The future looks bright for Mr. Uthoff; a big time college basketball career seems a sure thing, and a shot at the NBA is certainly within reach if all goes as planned. But whether all those dreams materialize or not, one thing seems certain- Jerrod is going to be happy just being Jerrod- and that's what makes him so damn different..... DanielPoneman@gmail.com

  • not impressed. a tape of a marginally talented guy playing against an even worse opponent (that team in the gray that apparently had no one over 6'2"). The won by 20, big deal.

Kid is going to be in for a rude awakening in the Big 10.

  • @uoficpa youre an idiot

  • @danpon1 quit riding ol' boy's jock. if this cat played in chicago, he would be lucky to see any time on the court

  • @uoficpa Yeah youre exactly right, thats why Wisconsin, illinois, and Indiana offered him scholarships, because Bruce Weber, Bo Ryan, and Tom Crean have no idea how to evaluate talent hahaha

  • @danpon1 got to keep the alumni who write the checks happy. ya know in these small college towns you can't have 13 brothers on scholarship.

  • @uoficpa That is one of the dumbest comments ive ever seen. Really top notch ignorance. Im very involved in the recruiting efforts of a number of the programs who offered Jarrod, and all of them offered based entirely on his talent and because they thought he could help their program in a big way. None of them ever mentioned to me that they had too many "brothers" on their team and needed a white dude. Thats just ignorant

  • Most Iowa boys know how to play ball, he`ll figure out how to use his skills and size at the big ten level ! IMO he wont play much as a freshman but could blossom as he gets a bit stronger! Tweener 3/4

  • He'll be solid I think. I hope he doesn't end up chucking too many 3's like the current Badger bigs. Berrgren has excellent post moves but you rarely see them, & I have no idea why Bruesewitz thinks he's a 3 point shooter, the guy's there to play near the hoop & occasionally pop a 3, not the other way around.

  • omg this is lame...he know how to PASS the ball *_*

  • trash

  • "he can pass the ball, rebound,, very craft and can put the ball on the floor. He will be very nice to see." -Kyle Randle

  • @danpon1 def not wisconsin, we got the opposite prob

  • hey check out jake blum

  • Super ugly dude haha

  • i think this kid has a ton of talent and will have a good career for wisconsin but i dont think this video really shows anything. the highlights on this video were pretty weak.

  • he has nothing on gordon hayward...
