This is example of peer tagging. One athlete is tagging another athlete for the correct response. A locked heel position. Shoulders to ears in a handstand. Back leg at horizontal at end of handstand.
Ah, I remembered this from a congress a while back. Very good and I tried to institute it in my coaching but it was a concept that my students couldn't seem to get used to.
The clicker is easy to listen for -- even for humans, and each time the click goes off the gymnasts know "yes! I got the leg position right at that precise moment" -- the clicker is a great teaching tool...! TagTeach is human clicker training! :D
It's the same principal as dog clicker training! Just adapted to human learning/teaching. You mark the desired behaviour :) This helps the gymnasts know when "they got it right". In the long run think about what it feels like when you "get it right" hugely rewarding right?
