In my opinion, Wind Waker was the greatest technical achievement in gaming of that time. To produce advanced cel-shaded graphics while still maintaining an entertaining story, fluid and highly responsive controls, and some of the best music in its series only a year from the GameCube's release is pretty amazing. Twilight Princess did have a more advanced graphics engine, but it was released at the end of the GameCube's life.

Its a shame people hate any Zelda because of its graphics. Whatever graphics it has, it's still one of the best adventure game series ever made. Personally I wouldn't mind if the next Zelda for Wii U isn't in full HD like in the tech demo. I just want them to keep the puzzles and the great stories, and of course an epic final battle to the end of the epic game. :D
