Billy Bob's Apology for QTV Canada - Jian Ghomeshi Interview

April 08, 2009 Oscar-winner Billy Bob Thornton and his band Boxmasters visited QTV and were interviewed by Jian Ghomeshi. Mr. Thornton took offense at any mention of his cinematic accomplishments and the interview deteriorated into a bizarre event. He made certain remarks that many considered offensive to Canadians. He was forced to cancel the balance of the Canadian portion of his tour.

For the record Jian Ghomeshi is of Iranian Heritage. He is a broadcaster and musician. He was formerly a member of a band called Moxy Fruvous. Jian is a well repected Canadian pop culture journalist .

@psomm1234 the man interviewing him is also a musician. a quick look at any of his other interviews would reveal that he is a smart man with alot of personal knowldge on the lifestyle. he did not insist upon anything, he merely mentioned the fact that he was an actor so as to clarify who he was speaking to to radio listerners and went on to ask questions about his band, which he refused to answer. Thorton was rude not only to Jian, but to his band, who ended up getting bad press because of him.

Billy was pissed because he was sitting there with his bandmate to have an interview about his music, and the host insisted on setting a foundation that billy was an oscar winning actor/screenwriter. This was rude to billy and rude to his bandmates. Any musician would understand this, I am a musician and pretty much all my friends are musicians - we all agree. Billy sabotaged to interview because it started with an inconsiderate host saying thing that were off limits

@imaprouddaddy1 It's not so much that we're offended, but it's more that were perplexed. His behaviour in this interview was extremely bizarre. It leads people to believe that there must be more to the story, which fuels their imaginations. People love a good mystery.
