What's the deal with the inferior (4th) function? In watching your videos, it sounds like the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd functions are all "powerhouses": use of any of these three functions both energizes a person and comes easily to them. But when it comes to my 4th function (INTP's Fe), it's my anathema and the obvious source of all my problems.
Presumably this becomes more developed with age?

Hey Dave, thanks for the videos! Question: Who or How do you decide what is the dominant function?

Okay, I think the shadow functions need to be explained next. Those seems very interesting, yet hard to get a handle on. I just don't quite understand them as of yet.

Some of these challenges include not doing drugs, alcohol (started in july '11) and being abstinent. This was very hard in the beginning. A lot of hard work was done while being here. My ego was tested, which I eventually overcame. Now I'm just left with more confidence and much lower needs of praise and affection. I already know this is going to be wonderful for me in the long-run and the world will benefit from the person I am today. Once again great job and sorry for the long response!

Honestly, no matter how developed we get as human beings, there should be an appropriate degree of association with all 16 types.
Currently I'm in a medical school in a small college town in India (I'm from California fyi). In the past 3.5 years I have been taking challenges in order to develop the functions and overcome the limitations present within our type. Being in a 3rd world country has helped facilitate that since the strength our type has is "escaping from the real world" XD.

I truly understand how you feel about the ISFP and the INFP. To be honest, I have had a bad experience with an INFP friend (sounds like you did too?). We did have chemistry when it came to the intuitive function (cracking jokes, connecting the dots, etc). But as you mentioned about the introverted feeling function, for me that's where traffic stopped, since london bridge never fell down. Basically during this time I was highly insensitive than I am now.

Hey Dave! INTJ here. You have done a fantastic job putting more emphasis on the functional hierarchy aspect of the MBIT rather than just the letters. In the past, I just looked at the letters & the description on personalitypage and typelogic, but a year ago I discovered there is more to it than that.
I'm now 21 w/ highly developed Ni, moderate Te and recently started on Fi. I'm definitely a late bloomer, but it doesn't hurt my ego. But Fi is needed in respect to the big picture. XD
Curious how long it takes to readily identify the 16 types in public. Or maybe that depends upon one's type.

@FloridaRaider It's easy most of the time to speed read people if you know enough about the functions.

@DaveSuperPowers I recognize a lot of type-specific mannerisms and speech patterns too. Then I double check their functions to confirm or refute my suspicion.
I'm an ENFP in my late 20's and I think this may be inferior Si starting to work with my Fi in identifying people's behavioral patterns. For example when I see the "ENFJ head laugh", I automatically picture every other person I've seen do the same laugh. They are all ENFJ's so I conclude that this person may be too.

@bumblyjack Yes, you really got it. One of the few I've seen who is ACTUALLY using this in real life and seeing and learning the patterns for themselves! Thank you! Please stay in touch.

ENFP wandered onto this video. I want to promote these videos more. The functions are awesome as well as the aux functions.
