Don't forget many of slavic warriors sailed with Vikings, especially in later period. There were more Slavs than Scandinavians. 100% sure the arrow which killed king Harold in Hastings was from slavic bow... :(

@Huscarlavery they are one and the same people as those from Germany and the Netherlands, thx to those countrys the viking age could exist, only because the southern brothers fend of and conquerd the Roman world 500 years earlyer, by the time we were going midievel, the raw fiersome german still existed in scandinavia, and went on great journeys!

@benny6555 they weren't idiotic, and they're not dead, they live today day in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland, they just aren't vikings anymore because medieval/ renaissance Europe brought Christianity to them, so they stopped worshiping the gods of glory + death, n they were actually very intelligent, and they brought great wealth to their clans through trade, which allowed for them to accomplish the raids they initiated, and for them to create such fine ships and weapons.

@Joern1066 They were both from Norway and Denmark. In fact, the danes most likely invaded England, while the norwegians went to modern Scotland and Ireland. So no, they were not generally from Norway. I dont know what the norwegian teachers teach you nowadays, but the vikings did not only come from Norway. Denmark was a powerfull Vikingnation too. After all, we did rule england for 30 years.
