I felt like one of the people from Myst when I was freaking out into the camera (in pre production).

we've used some different stuff, and usually construction paper type material isn't reflective enough.

Hmm.. the goal is nonreflectivity, though, eh? The more reflective, the more different colors will be on it (due to light hitting it in different ways), and the less likely to be able to get the key down to one color.
