In the US, voters living in rural areas make up about a fifth of the electorate. And in a presidential contest as close as this one, the candidates are doing everything they can to win their votes. So far John McCain has a ten-point lead among this key group. Rob Reynolds traveled to the small town of Taylor, Mississippi to find out why.

  • I hope that not all country people are this ignorant. Semi-Racist views aside not voting for Barak because of gun control laws is just plain stupid.

  • When the United States goes hungry there going to eat there bullets for food!

  • wow. Rob Reynolds must have earned his journalism degree between the sports section and the classifieds.

Rural people are stupid => Rural people are Republicans => Republicans are stupid.

    Thanks for the subtlety.

Anyone else find an arab news machine mocking religious people a tad ironic?

  • If you want to persuade people to follow your lead, then do not insult them. "Sheep" is a pejorative just in case you don't realize that. Even if you do not have great trust in the public's collective intellect, the intelligent and effective way to corral them to your view is to first try to make them seem intelligent and informed. That is why evil spinmeisters like Karl Rove are so successful. He too thinks people are dumb at heart. But he knows how to manipulate people:make them think they are

  • I know, I don't know if there is such a thing as unmanipulated media source these days. I watch Russian news as well and it seems above board but who knows? Next I'll be watching Iranian tv...lol...that is if it's been translated:)

  • Watch my video response, it's great!

  • the problem is that you never get enough people to vote for third party and everybody therefore will vote for the lesser evil. I think americans needs the system that is used in european countries - which allows smaller parties to be represented in parlaiment and senate... of course there!'s the danger of having party with some 7% votes to be the major deciding factor, but it is still better than two party system.

    peace out.

  • I would like to urge my fellow sheep Americans to vote for the third party of their choice. Democrats and Republicans are completely corrupt. Am I the only one who sees this? Do Americans still believe that Dems and Reps are different and don't follow the same agenda? Exercize what rights you have left and send a message to Washington that can't be denied. Our Constitution has already been trashed...will you finally open your eyes when we have martial law? Wake up!

  • No one needs Aljazzera to report this well-known fact. "He's arab" said one recently, remember? And not even God almighty could correct her. So either they're poor and manipulated or filthy rich doing the manipulating.
