Thanks for sharing. It is a great song.
It tells about the founding and the eventual decline of the Scottish city of Glasgow.

My cousin, Alan Reid, co-founder of the BB, wrote this and it's possibly his best song yet! Much of the lyric is true until the last verse...Glasgow will NEVER be the dear green place again! But Glasgow has some brilliant people, including my girlfriend!

@nitanewsreader Glasgow is a great place, you should visit sometime.Good if your young, has a good night life.Good if your old to,lots off mellow places around the west end.Quite parks and places just to chill out.And your only 20 mins from the wild magesty off Loch Lommand,if you have a car.

Let Glasgow flourish, my homeland, my heart and my soul.

My family came from Glasgow but I've never been there and know little about it, but I'm drawn to all things Scottish
I like this song as well. We sing it sometimes with the scouts. But the text is sometimes so sad "But the working man slaved his life away/ and an early grave was his sole reward". When I first listened to this song I thought it's about the Industrial Revolution... but it's about the founding of Glasgow as I can see the post below me. Liebe Grüße to the person who shared that song in youtube
