I hope they now know that the molten Aluminum from that reaction is at over 2500 degrees C. I'm sure they didn't know.

sorry, but thats stupid, and thats why you shouldnt be allowed it;
1: it was a good mix and thats ur wanking hand
2: if u dont have knowledge on how hot it is "ohh look, it light the wet wood on fire", dont use it
3:u need to make it all hit the steel at same time to melt through
4: dont ever poke it again, u might as well touch it without the sparkler
