Boston University advanced to the national championship game following a thrilling 5-4 victory over the University of Vermont. The Terriers got the first two goals of the game in the first period, the first coming from Colin Wilson and the second from Jason Lawrence. 3 goals in the second period gave Vermont the lead with Stacey, Milo, and Burrows lighting the lamp. Before the period ended, Vinny Saponari got a power play goal off a beautiful feed from Nick Bonino to tie it up. A power play in the 3rd period gave UVM the lead thanks to Drew MacKenzie, but he would later hurt the cause of his team by knocking in a shot from Chris Higgins to tie the game at 4 apiece. Just over a minute later, Colin Wilson won a faceoff and picked up a rebound in front of the net and gave BU a lead they would not relinquish.

  • agreed

  • Millan was actually the weak link to this time. Certainly shows a potent offense like that can make up for it, and ultimately win a championship, even with an average goalie

  • 6:47 Bonino undresses a defender
