Finally. I've been trying to get this song up forever. Hope you like it.

Lyrics:
"Daddy's not coming home now."
That's what her mama told her
And her world got colder
She didn't know why he was running
But since he'd left them
She wanted to forget him
Between the rocks and broken bottles
At the riverside
She closed her eyes
And oh-
She sang herself to sleep
With the Mississippi River Lullaby

Eleven years gone by and counting
She has a family
But it's far from happy
Her husband locks the door behind her
She holds their daughter
He doesn't want her
She finds her way past the broken bottles
To the riverside
And her baby cries
And oh-
She dries her baby's eyes
With the Mississippi River Lullaby

She wouldn't tell her daughter
That things would work out fine
Cause her daddy had said the same things
And it was all a lie
All she had held onto
Through those years of sighs
Was her lullaby:
"Take me down your waters deep,
Rock me as I fall asleep
And wash away the promises
The world could never keep
To me."

She's all alone - her daughter's gone now
There's nothing to run towards
Nothing to live for
She spends her days out in the sunshine
But she can't feel it
When she comes near it
She's waist-deep in the waters
Of the life she's started
But she's broken hearted, so-
Take her down your waters deep
Rock her as she falls asleep
And wash away the promises
The world could never keep...
As she sinks into the deep
Singing the Mississippi River Lullaby.

  • Great job, hope you have every success with your amazing talent.

  • Beautiful!!

  • Clicking those time-links starts the sound a little after what I was referring to.

  • beautiful

  • It's good overall.

There are a couple of spots, 1:10 and 1:52, where the guitar-playing could use more practice.
