Read Me!

Quite different from my first look that I uploaded, this is a dramatic look intended for use in cosplay, which is (for those who are unfamiliar with the term) making/buying a costume of a character from a movie, anime, video game, television series (or something of that nature), usually with the intention of wearing it to a convention.

This one in particular is of Midna from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Those pink things in my hair are to keep the hair out of my face so they don't mess up/get covered in foundation. They are quite cheap and there are millions on eBay.

I really hope you enjoy this tutorial, and maybe I'll even see some of you at future conventions!

The next look on the roster is going to be another wearable look, so stay tuned! Please leave comments on what you would like to see in future tutorials!

Maybelline Lash Stiletto in Very Black - http://www.maybelline.com/products/62/eyes/mascara/lash-stiletto-ultimate-len...

Graftobian Theatrical Creme Foundation in Blithe Spirit (this isn't Midna's EXACT skin color, but it matches the bodysuit I have for the costume. I've also seen people use completely white foundation, so it's totally up to you! If you are applying this on someone else, do NOT use your fingers like I did, use a sponge.) - http://www.graftobian.com/commerce/product.jsp?prodId=466&catId=18

e.l.f. Studio High Definition Powder - http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/face/powder/high_definition_powder

e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush - http://www.eyeslipsface.com/studio/tools/brushes_and_applicators/powder_brush

I honestly do not remember what the lip and other liner (the angled handle) brush were; I got them from a clearance bin and they don't have names on the handles.

Amazing royalty-free piece by Kevin MacLeod called "Sovereign" found on http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/index.html

Disclaimer: I do not own the Legend of Zelda in any way, shape, or form, or the character of Midna!

  • where did you get the bodysuit?

  • @Evemaru2 I got it on eBay, from a seller who is unfortunately not around anymore. If you search for the word "zentai" and the color you're looking for, a whole bunch of results should still show up though! :)

  • I just want to say a BIG thank you - this is a wonderful help to me as a noob cosplayer!!!

Can I ask what the name of the blue foundation your using is/where you bought it?

  • @AsylumPlastics Thank you so much! I'm so glad to help cosplayers, and I have a whole bunch of cosplay-based tutorials that I will be putting out; hopefully they will be useful as well! And the foundation is a Graftobian foundation called Blithe Spirit that I bought on eBay. It's bit on the purplish side, but I find that mixing it with a bit of Graftobian's Disguise Stix in Crypt Green (which are also quite inexpensive and found on eBay) makes a very accurate color!

    Good luck <3

  • Are you using an Einaudi song?

  • @KlairedelysArt It's actually not, but I thought it sounded so much like one of the songs I love (Nuvole Bianche), so I chose to use it! It's one of Kevin MacLeod's songs :)
