I have just watched the movie. What a brilliant brilliant brilliant movie. I had not idea that there was anyone out there who could make class and craftmanship like this movie. I've just watched it on DVD. I'm so annoyed I missed it at the cinema, this is big screen stuff, this is big film making.

This trailer makes this film look like a love story. I haven't seen the film yet, but if it is anything like the book, then it is most definitely NOT a romance. Don't bother watching it if you're looking for a "forbidden love" type of story. This is strictly a mob movie.

what i love about this movie the most is how i thought it was predictable ( u know, bad guy falls in love with good girl and that makes him better, bla bla bla...) but it wasnt... i find it so true...

Eastbourne? Neil Jordan managed to make Brighton look like the 30s in 'The End Of The Affair', so it is possible to still film in town and look authentic.
