Professional Mountain Guide Keith Garvey, owner/operator of All Mountain Adventures (http://allmountainadventures.com) demonstrates his Marmot Winter layering system from Ouray, CO. Included in his pack are the mideweight baselayer tops and bottoms, the Vars Hoody, the Genesis, Baffin and Trient Jackets, The Scree Pant, and the Exum Work Glove & Amphibian Glove. See how it all works together and learn more at http://marmot.com.
No hard shell needed. I have the Genesis jacket and with those welded seams its acts just as a gore tex shell. I prefer it over my Troll Wall jacket; it just moves better.

Great vid, super informative. This guy could sell me a jar of wasps. I own a couple of the pieces and they all rock. Funny, it was beginning to look like an SNL skit where he would just keep adding and adding and adding until he was buffed out like a Macy's Day balloon. Good stuff though.

there isnt ONE layering system for the whole thing, there are loads of ways to layer up, i find a Nutrino Down Jacket near the skin is fantastic. There is so much gear and clothing out there, its hard to get the exact ones the instructors are talking about, beleive me, i work in outdoor equipment sales

@lehman Legs never get as cold as you are always standing on them and they do most of the work.
