The Weekend Spud Cannon

This is the air-powered spudgun me and my friend made over the weekend. It might not have the power of the bigger cannons, but the nice thing is that you can fire it from your shoulder. Later I might add footage of it shooting a mini-vortex... it shoots those things like 250 yards... To make your own you can get the plans at http://corin.com/bill/paintball/aircannon/. It cost about 25$ for all the stuff and it took about an hour to put it all together. I usually pump it up with one of those mini air compressors, like you plug into the cigarette lighter in a car.

what kind of valve did you use?

an electric sprinkler valve, it costs like 15 bucks at any hardware store

I'm pretty sure its a lawn genie, 3/4 inches, but like a rainbird would work too, all those are chill. We hooked up four nine volt batteries and a light switch to the leads of the solenoid

Cool but you gotta show us the gun too! I build combustions but one of these days I gotta do a pneumatic.
