A brand new glitch I recently discovered for the Gamecube. This Glitch can be used to get into Lake Hylia as soon as you get Epona back, allowing you to skip King Bulbin with the Early Master Sword glitch. See Dead Door Glitch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mjo7k_7wnhk, CD-Stream Collection, Super CD-Streaming 1 and 2, and Eldin Bridge Glitch by CD-Streaming to see the nifty stuff you can do with this trick.

CD-Streaming is a way to prevent your console from reading data off of your disc by first stopping the game disc from spinning inside the console, and then keep the disc from being read by disrupting the console's disc booting process.

Oh, and the reason I die on the Lake Hylia Bridge is because when the two flames meet each other, it instantly kills you regardless of where you stand inside the map.

On Wii version:
pretty much what you do is you eject the game disk and re-insert it to stop the disk from spinning (this step can be done whenever you press the home button). Now that the disk is no longer spinning, go wherever you want to go. If you trigger a loading spot, you'll hear the disk drive on the wii boot up; This is where you press home again, eject the disk and re-insert it. (Note: Thanks to MASTERLINKX for finding out how to do it better on the Wii.)

On Gamecube version:
Find a place where you'd think it would be cool to CD-Stream and hit the open button on the Gamecube and close it. This will stop the disk from spinning, and causing something that triggers the game to load will force the Cube to spin the disk again. Now head towards the area you don't want to load. Listen for the Gamecube to load. When you hear it, press open and quickly close the Cube.
Head down another path and listen for the CD to load. That is your cue to dash and aim out of bounds. If your successful, you will be able to float on your horse, sink into an abyss, fall endlessly into an abyss, or sink into an abyss and appear at the spot just before you fell and one step forward will crash the game.

This is my first video upload, so there's not a lot to it. There is one strange thing though that happens that normally doesn't. When I go to retry, I get sent back to the area I originally came from, instead of being trapped in the twilight.
Update:10/5/07 Over 9 thousand hits and counting!
Update 4/20/08 Wow, 1 whole year and a month... only 17 thousand hits =p
Update 9/20/08 lol, 3k more makes 20k!

  • I've managed to get Sonic Colors to halt sound effects for a few seconds until the "insert disc" screen pops up, and Super Paper Mario to freeze, but nothing much else.Have you had any luck doing this with any other games, or only on Zelda: TP?

  • @robotortoise Really only Twilight Princess and to a limited extent, Brawl. I tried doing it on Final Fantasy XII for the PS2, but that crashed the game.

  • hahahahahahahahahaahahaha

  • so this is like cartridge tilting.

  • @Kevin7111000 In a way yes. The only difference is that you won't risk frying your system if you do it wrong.

  • Woahh.. Wtf.

  • 3:25 Midna: You shouldn't have done that...

  • cant you use the map glitch?

  • ive stopped the wii from reading the disk (no, i didnt leave the disk out of the console) and nothing happened. did nintendo fix it or something???

  • @TheCorruptPlague Yeah, I know a few gamecube games work, too. I have a Wii, so the disc drive is too slow to work this glitch(es). Maybe if there was a way to make a "dummy" disc, one that fools the system into thinking the correct game disc is inserted, we could stream even MORE games... But to do that such a disc would have to reproduce the disc name stored in RAM and temporarily copy that name to the disc. Hey, if someone can figure out how to get a early Master Sword...

  • midna: hey, do you smell anything funny?

    link: ya, my gross butt

    (link is deformed at 2:16)

  • @robotortoise I was able to do this with Windwaker.

  • @mzxrules Update: I tried doing it with many more games, and most Wii games end up displaying the "insert disc" message after about three seconds, because the pre-rendered music only streams in chunks, rather than MIDI music, which streams into the game's RAM at one time. Also, most Wii games nowadays use "levels", rather than loading points on a seamless environment, and load the entire level into RAM at once.
