I grew up in New Albany in the 50s and
60s, and remember these bands very well. Of course Frank Bugbee is from New Albany. He was a year behind me in high school. The metro Louisville area was brimming with musical talent. It is so great to hear all these songs again. Songs like this one, Look Homeward Angel, Small Town Gossip, Nite Owl, and This Old Heart, to name a few, could stand with any of the national hits. Too bad these great songs didn't get the exposure!

Forgot to mention I grew up in Shively, KY and graduated in the class of '72!

This song was just awesome and why it didn't go Nationwide, I'll never know. I loved it when I was a "youngster" and I'm 57 now. The sixties hails as the best music EVER created!

I seem to recall this stayed in the #1 spot on the local and regional charts for about a month. It was picked up by Laurie Records, but didn't make a dent on the national charts. Should have went nationwide.

Frank Bugbee was in my grad class of 1966, New Albany High School. I talked to him several times by phone a couple of years ago. I didn't know, but after Elysian Field and Soul Inc., he went to California. Became a studio musician and was a guitar player for the famous Monkees. A band that out sold the Beatles in that time frame! So, if you were a Monkees fan, you've heard his guitar work. New Albany, Indiana... mecca for raw musical talent!!! Last I heard, was teaching guitar right here in NA!

I remember the group from 1960's WAKY and this was one of my favorite songs when I was a teenager. (I'm 63 now!) Thanks for posting this bit of nostalgia, I STILL love it! Great song!
