If you have access to an old hardcover of the right size, you can remove the pages and turn it into a simple ereader case in 60-90 minutes, using some cardboard, fabric, elastic bands, thread and glue.

Being a librarian, I can tell you that I'm not crying. I actually think that this is an ingenius way to recycle old books. We get donations all of the time that we cannot use and this would be a great way of repurposing them. Great job!

I don't think you've made any librarians cry! You are definitely not the first person to re-purpose a book! (It's not like you burned To Kill a Mockingbird in protest!!!)

I love your idea and think you used creativity to a great end. It is a very cool kindle cover!

Instead of using market bags I used felt. I really liked the result.

I'm making something similar to this. Instead of the cardboard and shopping bag, I just glued my existing case on the inside. The book cases are very expensive and this is a great way to make one!

Thank you for this. Trying to make a kindle case for me and so far your idea was the best one. Easy, beautiful and practical.
