The Honeywell TPE331 turboprop engine provides up to 30 percent more power, reduces fuel burn by about four gallons an hour, has a faster throttle response, and costs as much as $40 an hour less to operate than the production motor on the Cessna Caravan. This video demonstrates the difference between the 900 horsepower (HP) TPE331-12JR engine and the 650 HP production engine from another manufacturer, care of Texas Turbines, one of Honeywell's authorized channel partners who provides engine upgrades for the Cessna Caravan.

Why does no current OEM use the Honeywell engine? FOD damage. No bypass = if you kick up rocks reversing on landing, engine suffers moderate/severe damage. That's why nearly all twin turboprops with the Honeywell are high wing airplanes. (Commander, MU2, etc.) I flew a T-Commander years ago and took a small bird strike injestion. End result - 2 months downtime and $80,000 repair bill. Took 4 birds in a King Air C90 inlet - no damage to the engine, just a lot of feathers to clean out.
