If someone has a problem with a DIRECTV system, the best thing to do is to use the menu button on the remote control to go to "System Setup," where that person can check the signal strength of the satellite. Find out what to do if a receiver is having a problem with help from the owner of an electronics store in this free video on satellite television.
Guys, just call the cable guy.. It's 100x better.

Buddy I work for Directv and your 99 signal is way to low it should be in the high 90s 95 to 97 when you retested your signal there was no way it was going to pass. you have to fine tune your dish and then get the best results. your 101 119 and 110 looked ok but 99 and 103 will not work correctly with a signal that low

@juan833blue read my post above. Just past the screens in the video is the signal strength bars. Have a friend watch switch through those screens while they call out signal strength on the phone while you tweak where the dish is pointing, until all signals bars are preferably in the 90's. Oh wait, you posted this a year ago. I hope it's fixed by now, lol.

Checking signal strength isn't the same as troubleshooting. Cycling power is always a good try, though. Also, no values were given. Strengths should preferably be in the high 90's. If signal strength is low on some satellites, you can adjust the dish. One person sit in front of the TV and switch between the screens with signal strength bars, while the other person is on the roof with their cell phone, adjusting the dish, until all are in the 90's.

@deftoyou4me infact dont even press the red button call a priest and hail mary before anything else otherwise you could just turn the system off for a day or so and let the rotted out connectors dry out and have time to start the next level of your problem.... :) i get paid to fix it.
