Edwin is a recent rescue from death row in Springfield, IL. He is an Orange and White American Field bred English Setter that we suspect if from a notorious breeded in Benton, IL. All of the rescues we have pulled from this guy have Rocky Mountain spotted fever (RMSF) as he doesn't use any flea and tick preventative and his dogs run amuck on his property.
Edwin is a bit apprehensive about meeting new dogs and he looks stiff and sore. Joint pain accompanies RMSF as do hot flashes and fevers. Long term complications include dog aggression, food allergies and eventual kidney failure. Edwin will be treated for 8 solid weeks on doxycycline and will be retested a few months later.
