The two-day nationwide trade union strike began on a tragic note after a trade union leader was killed in Ambala early this morning. The strike called by 11 registered trade unions, cutting across party lines, is largely to protest against anti-people policies of the UPA government... trade unions of banking, insurance, PSUs, transporters and unorganised sectors have also joined in the bandh call.
