Remembering Sharkheads

I captured this short clip of Sharkheads in Biloxi, MS, en route to Florida around Memorial Day Weekend of 2004. I had no idea that the three-story building and the shark fin would be about all that was left of it after Hurricane Katrina made an unholy mess of the Gulf Coast region some 15 months later. But I know it'll be back; you can't keep a good tourist attraction (or memory) down, and Harrison County's foremost souvenir shop is no different.

I was an airbrush artist there when it was T-shirt City in the early 90's.  It was an awesome store!

i live here on the coast in pass christian and i loved sharkheads. i miss so many things now that were taken away on that day

damn, that just brought back memories. I live a block north of this, and I drive by the destructed version of this 3 times a day. It is amazing to see it like this.. Almost like it was yesterday
