I've got one of these, and they're awesome. We use it for peeling and coring pears as well. Its great when stewing apples and/or pears, and you can do a bucket full of them in the same time as it would take to do about 10 normally.
Plus, the kids love it. And anything to get the kids interested in fruit is a plus in my books!

You can get them online !! they are called back to basic peel aways !!!! my dad got one at a thrift store for 1 dollar lol it is the best thing i have ever used in my life to peel apples and potatoes !!!! It peels and slices them at once !!!!

It was a gift, I only know that you use to be able to get them in specially kitchen shops.
