Doubt there would be a laser in the 19th century. I don't think grenades were all that plentiful then either. I'd say it's set in the late 1980s. I guess it doesn't really matter. Killing monsters is fun in any time period!

And that is why retro gaming trumps modern everytime. Modern gaming has forgotten that simple golden rule of our innocent gaming childhood. (And yes folks, I'm KIDDING. Just to make sure nobody thinks otherwise. Another sad thing about modern times, gotta be politically correct or just about anyone could jump you...aiya.)
