Happy New Year from Lisa at Funny Side Up! To properly ring in 2011, let's make sauerkraut with bacon and apples - traditional for good luck in the new year. And let's give a warm welcome to the special guest - Lisa's grandma!

Lisa makes herself food. Lisa makes yourself laugh.

Funny Side Up, hosted by Lisa Ludwinski, is part comedy and humor, part how-to recipe cooking show. Using celebrities and other notable figures from history as inspiration, Lisa creates a new dish each week tailored for that week's guest. Come back every week for more recipes, good food, cooking tips, and some fun comedy with Lisa on Funny Side Up.

  • @lisaludwinski

Well, awesome, we both had a double dose of good luck for this year!

  • AWESOME, LIS!!! A star (Mimi) is born.

  • @limalicious yum! I cooked kale and black eyed peas with brown rice the other day for even more New Year's good luck...:)

  • Hehehehehe. Can you suggest some entrees to serve this with? Your grandmama is OFF THE HOOK! LOL!

  • o___o Being a Southern girl, I was raised on collards and black eyed peas.

But this explains why I had to go to FOUR STORES to find sauerkraut to go with my pierogies and sausage. I like mine with apple, onion, and green pepper, with a nice grainy brown mustard.
