From their debut album "Saint Vitus".

Genre: Doom Metal
Year: 1984

LYRICS:
Skull and crossbones ? a field of black
Thunder roars ? lightning cracks
A phantom ship ? she appears
Lost horizons ? suddenly near

Neptune please help me
Don't want no burial at sea

Hear their laughter ? bloodless shrieks
Tell yourself ? dead men can't scream
One legged spectre ? riding high
He's commanding ? the rape of the sky

Neptune please help me
Don't want no burial at sea

Twilight killers, blood stained teeth
Guiding you into the reef
You are smashed to bits, far below
You're one of us now, you've got no soul

Join the dead men ? who cannot die
Committed forever ? to soar 'cross the sky
Skull and crossbones ? a field of black
Laughs insanely ? but no one laughs back

Neptune please help me
Don't want no burial at sea
Neptune please help me
Don't want no burial at sea

  • one of the single most important AND one of the greatest Doom Metal songs EVER...this is right up there with Black Sabbath's "Black Sabbath"....Awesome riff and haunting lyrics.

  • Fucking Bad Ass!

  • Yeahh...Rome loves Saint Vitus.

  • I first heard this song performed by the Swedish death metal band Grave on their album "Fiendish Regression" in 2004...now the original for the first time...epic, dark...

  • @E51500515E you mean Hallows Victim. Scott Reagers is SAINT VITUS, like Ozzy is Black Sabbath. BOC rules!!! too.

  • love vitus!

  • Goatsnake version is better

I must be one of the very few people that can't stand this guy in Vitus. Hallow's Eve is his only decent album with them...he sounds too much like they snatched him up from a Blue Oyster Cult cover band.
