Freestyle - Sammy C - If You Wanted To Love Me

Sammy C
Raised in Camden New Jersey, Sammy discovered he had a musical capability soon after graduating from high school. He purchased his 1st synthesizer, the Casio CZ 1000, which helped him develop an ability to compose melodies. His brother Edwin helped Sammy merge his music with lyrics.

After relentless efforts of shopping his music to publishers, Sammy decided to sing and make a demo of one of his songs. His friends encouraged him to pursue his career as a singer instead of a songwriter. Hence, Sammy C was born. The "C" in Sammy's' public name is dedicated to the keyboard that inspired him to create, the Casio CZ 1000.

In 1990, He started his own Independent label Hot Streak Records that produced such songs as "In your eyes", and later teamed up with Afecta Records and released"A Distant Memory". They both received acclaim by club DJ's and radio stations like Q102, which gave him the honor of performing in the stations "Birthday Bash" and The Monster III concert."

Sammy's songs have been featured in college, commercial radio stations and in mix shows across the country. Sammy has also been in the public eye by performing shows in the Northeast Coast. In 1993 he signed a 12 inch contract with Viper Records. "Faded Destiny" became one of the compilation singles in one of the hottest CD's of that year, Viper freestyle Vol. 1 . In 1994 he signed an exclusive contract with Tazmania Records. His first release "If you wanted to love me" had ignited reverence among his peers and people in the industry. Sammy had completed his follow up singles with "Other part of me", "Tonight", and "The First Time" and appears on back up vocals on Tazmania recording artist Annette's "Still in Love" (which he also wrote and helped produced). Sammy also wrote a song for long time friend Miguel Reyes "About Last Night" which was featured in Miguel's debut album. Sammy had the honor to appear in "A very Metro Chrimas Album " Which featured artist such as Miguel Reyes, Lil Suzy ,Denine and Collage to name a few. Sammy released a compilation of songs under his debut album entitled "Taking it to the millennium and beyond.

Sammy would like to take the time to thank all his supporters, fans, Dj's and all those who are keeping freestyle music alive!
