New Orleans - Bobby Hackett 1955.
Here is one of the nicest recordings of Hoagy Carmichaels "New Orleans" recorded in a studio session in October 1955 by Bobby Hackett and his Jazzband. Bobby choose his musicians who had never played together until a few days before. In a twelve hour night session they recorded some nine tunes which came out as "Coast Concert'.
Next to Bobby we hearJack Teagarden and Abe Lincoln trombone, Matty Matlock clarinet, Don Owens piano, Nappy Lamare guitar, Nick Fatool drums and Phil Stephens bass
hi Bob,
As you know this is the music I grew up with. Since my dad passed away this summer the music brings back even more sweet memories. Thanks. en tot ziens
