  • Sick. Simply sick. I don't care if I offend anyone. If you're offended you obviously aren't a good horse person then.

  • I for one do find the pads make the horse's gait way to high and generally goofy-looking. If other people think it's "flashy", fine. I look at the whole pain situation this way, if the horse was trained patiently and is used to the pads they shouldn't hurt him immediatly, but just like a woman who wears high-heels all the time, it can speed up joint problems. See how the horse's knees snap right before he/she puts its foot down? That has a high possibility of leading to knee problems much later.

  • @KnightHawke01 its a disgusting Exaggeration of the already present natural gait of the TWH look up natural Tennessee walking horse gait on here and you'll see the difference in the beauty of it and the fact that the natural gait is also less painful. most people who do the 'big lick' think it looks better and flashy and apparently judges agree with them but most REAL horse people don't as you can see from the amount of negitive comments on this. verses the positive...which i haven't seen

  • @Appaloosapinto i know right! i have a MFT and she has a wonderful pace & tolt that's natural and my old trainer starts in on how we can do this or that to cause her to exaggerate it for a blue ribbon and none of them sounded like I'd want them done to me! so i told her to get lost now I'm training lady myself. and let me tell you when i get to shows and see the horses that look bad and feel her swaying beneath me in a exaggerated trot i taught her with dressage instead of pain. oh i feel good!

  • I think it is selfish that they try to make the Tennessee walker lift his feet higher. They aren't naturally high legged horses, so why do it? Oh wait.. Just to get the ribbon; to get the money; to be the best. Sick.

  • Some might call it flashy. I call it lame. He just hurts so much on all four, he can't decide which one to limp on. As it is, he can barely keep his balance. Poor thing.

  • This is horrible. If you want a horse that d lifts its feet high buy a saddlebred or something don't torture a horse by soring and pressure shoeing it! I will never understand some people.

  • Some people should be simply killed

  • this is disgusting! those owners should be shot

  • No horse should walk like that. I understand that TWH can do a special gait, but not like this. It is sick and cruel and you have to be blind to think the opposite.

  • Um, you "LIKE" horses?

  • what exactly is big lick?! I don't quite understand.
