CHAN:
And a new documentary film "Bloodline" furthers the debate over whether Jesus married Mary Magdalene and fathered children with her. The film is premieres here in New York today, but don't worry - no spoilers.

STORY:
It's the tomb everyone is talking about. Located in a sleepy village in southern France, the tomb may contain the body of Mary Magdalene, who is described in the Bible as a follower of Jesus.

And the documentary says relics found in the tomb may have been used during her wedding ceremony to Jesus.

Film director Bruce Burgess:

[Bruce Burgess, "Bloodline" Director]:
"It was astonishing because there in front of my eyes was a shrouded corpse with a templar cross surrounded by all chests. So normally you get a very empty tomb or it's covered in dirt and debris. This for me was very much like the holy grail."

The rumors about the tomb have been flying since the 19th century. That's when a local priest apparently made a fortune after discovering the tomb under his church.

DNA tests on a hair sample taken from the body showed it came from the Middle East. But the the tests could not verify the body's age or gender.

But Burgess says there's reason to be excited.

[Bruce Burgess, Film Director]:
"For people who say 'oh this is all hype connected to the Da Vinci code' No. This is 800 years old - this legend and this belief and that whole of that area of Southern France are filled with churches and grottoes and religious sights all dedicated to Mary Magdalene so I think there is a very convincing story that she did come to southern France."

Some theologians are more skeptical. Deirdre Good is a professor of the New Testament at the General Theological Seminary in New York.

[Deirdre Good, General Theological Professor]:
"We have text in the New Testament and outside the New Testament, but nothing that supports the journey of Mary Magdalene to Marseilles with her siblings, so this belongs to Christian tradition, medieval Christian tradition."

Somewhere between truth and hype, "Bloodline" is scheduled for a nationwide release after premiering in New York and Los Angelos in the coming week.

  • @Justinillusion8 Habakkuk wondered that 2

  • @EdwardoSancezII and you got all of this where? from the Bible right. It will become the most easily discredited book ever written. It's original translators were corrupt King, Church Priests, and they were the Politicians!!!

  • @KungFatty Watch 'Bloodline the Movie' its here.

  • @JuJuMJFan4life did you ask him? I think not, then this theory is as valid than yours ever was. What is unholy about bringing new life to bear? Or having a wife to love and give you comfort? Forget the Bible because those who created it want you to be easily controlled and forever in ignorance of your royal lineage from the stars!

  • @Justinillusion8 God works in and through those who slay their own 'devils' (negative ego and it's influences.) When enough humans have done so the legions of light from the universe step in to finish the job. They have stepped in already. There are videos here about underground bases destruction and demon removals.
