I'm in love with this musical. I wish it would have made it farther on Broadway, but it's still just as good. This cast's mother is AMAZING! I love her dramatic role! The girl who plays Shelly is great too. Keep up the fantastic work!

this play isn't meant to be taken too seriously, so yes this could be a comedy scene if you so chose to make it that way. in fact, i find it more entertaining with the comedic edge to it :)

The whole musical is actually a satire isn't it? Even in the original with Kerry Butler the audience can see its meant to be funny. There's a vid on youtube with the original performance w/ the audience laughing too.

This is my favorite musical du jour, and i've seen a lot of vids of this song, but this one is probably the best. The choreography is great, and the whole song made me smile, especially when Meridith is shaking Shelly around and Shelly's like "Mom, mom, MOOOOM!"
