Eddie Albert sings "Aura Lee" (from the 1975 album "Eddie Albert Sings and Narrates Americana"); with pictures from his 50-year stage & screen career.

Please excuse the background noise, which I couldn't altogether edit out this time. Luckily, it doesn't seem to affect the vocal track, and I offer the piece as evidence that, at age 69, Eddie still knew his way around a sweet tune.

  • What an incredible voice. I had never knew he had such singing talent. To sound so smooth and polished even in an advanced age... Wow! Going to have to find/listen to more of his recordings.

  • is this the guy from that show "Green Acres"

  • Hi! I'm making high degree musical studies at ESMUC, Barcelona, Spain. I'm doing a work about the authory of Aura Lee, not necessary against Elvis, but trying to refresh to the audience that this tune has another origin different from the movie Love me Tender (ugh!) and trying to break the effect of the marketing and "unsportive" attitude of the director and Elvis, whom get the rights like if they were the authors. I don't like brain washing...If someone can help me anyway i'll thank u a lot!

  • Never knew Eddie Albert could sing... never heard him sing before.

  • Amazing! His vibrato is too awesome for words...

  • Attended the re-internment ceremony for an unknown soldier at Franklin TN this weekend, where the period military band performed several beautiful songs. Except we were all confused when we recognized Love Me Tender. Thanks for this recording which I understand to be the original Civil War lyrics.

  • Very good! I like these kinds of song

  • that is amazing...
