james pastell did record this song in 77 i think it was, but he didnt write it jim owens also recorded it you can still find a few records of it on ebay

Larry Cheshier and Glen sutton wrote this song, but what does he say about Johnny Adams, and Sonny Bergess at the beginning of this video? that they recorded too, i heard Johnny's version before he passed away it was very good

@rockin1953 It is a absolute FACT that Larry Lee Cheshier Sr. and his friend Glenn Sutton wrote this song and their friend Sonny Burgess (and the Pacers) sings it still. I think it is a Great song and that his son Larry Lee Cheshier Jr. sings the best versions of it that I have heard.
