Maniac Mansion Playthrough Review NES Part 1 of 4

In this video I do an entire play through of the game Maniac Mansion for NES and do a running commentary all the way through. This was one of my favorite games and I would like to share the way I beat it with you. I am playing the game on the scummvm emulator, the emulator and rom conversion tool are available on the official scummvm website. This is part 1 of the 4 part video. Enjoy.

@vampirerain100 Basically all that happens is a different character stands by sandy and dr fred says hes sorry for her boyfriend dieing. I will post that ending if you want me to.

on the pc this looks like shit but on the nes it looks good :)

The deluxe version of maniac mansion for pc looks pretty good but the original version looked very blocky.

Cool review. Every time I play this game I turn off their CD Players because it drives me crazy and I can't think. And every time I beat the game I can only beat it by making the Meteor a star and giving him his own t.v. show. LOL! I can't seem to win any other way. I never know which 2 characters to play as?

This game is incredible, I came across a remake on bit torrent of the original a year or so with updated graphics. Excellent!!! Now if only someone can do something like that with day of the tenticle and make it playable on windows 7.

@gamemaster14neo -- Yes. Also you can kill Dave off, and play with his ghost. When you beat the game with Dave's ghost you get a pretty cool ending talk by Dr. Fred to Dave's ghost and Sandy. People call the ghost playing of kids a glitch, but it was put in the game on purpose.

Ive been playing this game since 1990. Rented it a few days after it came out at a local video rental store. Got it for Christmas in 1990. Played it non stop all winter into summer of 1990 before beating it with the offical hint book. Been playing on/off since. Ive played all the different versions. I have the pre-release NES Rom of this game for emulation which has the original adult lanaguage, nude statue, and stuff in Teds room that was deleted in the release version due to Nintendo's policys
